MikroTik Access Point Configuration

We are using MikroTik Access Point Model No:- RBD22UGS-5HPacD2HnD and will be Configured in Standalone Mode.

Step 1:- Remove all the Default Configuration.
Step 2:- Wireless Configuration.
Step 3:- Bridge Configuration.
Step 4:- DHCP Client Configuration.

Lets Start….

Step 1:- Remove all the Default Configuration.
It is a best practice to Remove all the default RouterOS Configuration before starting the New Configuration so follow below steps to remove default configuration
✦ Once you login to MikroTik RouterOS goto System -> Reset Configuration -> Click on Reset Configuration -> you will get a prompt “Do you want to reset all your configuration and reboot?” -> click Yes -> Now RouterBoard will reboot.
✦ Once you relogin to MikroTik RouterOS you will get “RouterOS Default Configuration” prompt -> click on Remove Configuration -> Now RouterBoard will again Reboot.
✦ Now all the Default configuration will be removed.

Step 2:- Wireless Configuration.
✦ Click on Wireless -> Click on WIFI Interfaces Tab -> Enable Both wlan1 and wlan2.
✦ Edit wlan1 -> Click on wireless Tab -> Mode: Select ap bridge from Drop Down List -> Band: Select 2GHz-B/G/N from Drop Down List -> Frequency: Select CH from Drop Down List -> SSID:- Enter SSID Name -> Country: Select india from Drop Down List -> Installation: Select Indoor or outdoor from Drop Down list and Click on Apply OK.
✦ Edit wlan2 -> Click on wireless Tab -> Mode: Select ap bridge from Drop Down List -> Band: Select 5GHz-A/N/AC from Drop Down List -> Frequency: Select CH from Drop Down List -> SSID:- Enter SSID Name -> Country: Select india from Drop Down List -> Installation: Select Indoor or outdoor from Drop Down list and Click on Apply OK.

Step 3:- Bridge Configuration.
✦ Click on Bridge -> Click on Bridge Tab -> Add -> Click Apply OK.
✦ Click on Ports Tab -> Add -> Interface: Select all from Drop Down list -> Bridge: {Select Bridge which was already Created eg: bridge1} and Click on Apply OK.

Step 4:- DHCP Client Configuration.
Click on IP -> DHCP Client -> Click on DHCP Client Tab -> Add -> Interface: Select bridge1 which we created and Click on Apply OK.
