In this article we will see how to Register the Fortinet Appliance/Device and Fortinet Licenses/Contract.
First we will have to Register the Fortinet Appliance/Device and then the Fortinet Licenses/Contract.
In Order to Register Fortinet Appliance/Device and Fortinet Licenses/Contract first we need to Create Login Credentials on Fortinet Website
Visit https://support.fortinet.com -> Click on Register and follow the Prompt.
Steps To Register a Fortinet Device (There are 2 Options)
OPTION 1
1. Login to your account at https://support.fortinet.com .
2. Select Register Product in the Asset Management section.
3. Enter your 12-digit device serial number, Select End User Type (Government or Non-Government)
4. Click Next.
5. Specify your registration information:
a. If you have purchased a support contract for your product, enter the support contract number.
b. Enter a description to help identify the product.
c. Specify the Fortinet Partner or Reseller that helped you with your product.
d. Click the My Assets dropdown to assign the product to a folder.
e. Click Next.
6. Click the box accepting the terms.
5. Registration confirmation will appear, you can check this in the Product list now.
OPTION 2
In case you don’t have Hardware Appliance in front of you then simply follow below steps using GUI.
Login to Fortigate Firewall -> System -> Fortiguard -> Click on Register
when Prompt Login to FortiCloud
Email: Enter Email ID
Password: Enter Password
Country/Region: Select india from Drop Down List
Reseller: Select Unknown
and Click on OK Button -> Tick Mark I agree to the FortiCare terms & conditions and Click on OK.
Your Product will get registered and FortiCare will show as Registered.
Steps To Register a Fortinet Contract
1. Login to your account at https://support.fortinet.com .
Note:- If you don’t have Login ID then Register and then Login.
2. Select Register/Renew in the Asset Management section.
3. Enter your 12-digit contract registration code (service contract number), then click Next.
4. Follow the prompts, have your FortiCloud Key at hand, this is located in the device itself
5. Click the box accepting the terms.
