Once the switch reboots into VSF mode and assumes the Commander role, configure one or more ports as the initial VSF link:
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2> enable
Username: admin
Password: admin
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2#
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2# configure terminal
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2(config)# vsf member 1 link 1 1/49,1/50
Connect the VSF link cable(s) to the second member and power it on. Once the switch brings up ports and detects the active VSF link, it will reboot and join the fabric automatically.

To set priority for VSF members, use the following commands (replace listed values as appropriate):
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2> enable
Username: admin
Password: admin
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2#
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2# configure terminal
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2(config)# vsf member 1 priority 255
HP-Switch-5406Rzl2(config)# vsf member 2 priority 192
